DIY Gel Nails?

Ok, so my sister picked up a do it yourself home gel kit. So i thought i would give it a try as i love to get my gel nails done and i wanted to see if this was any good and if it would last. Its a top coat and a bottom coat and you can use any nail polish and dont need a UV light! I tested it over five days as i have work at the end of the week i couldnt have it on the the whole week. So here are the results!Image

So as you can see here the chips are only minor and happening in the same place just getting abit bigger each day. Little chips arent hard to repair of BUT can be a pain.. so you dont want that when your expecting gel standards. I really like the top and bottom coat, they dry really quickly so its not a long process. As the chips where only in one place it could of been me not doing the job properly but even though i wasnt expecting chips. I still do recommend this i think it is good and it does last better than normal nail polish.. well in my case it does – you may disagree.

This has been a short one but i hope you enjoyed!

My Favourite Beauty Products Right Now.

Sorry its been a while since ive posted ive been so busy, but im going to try and make it one of my top priorities!Image

So today i will be reviewing these few products. Enjoy!

Image

First is my new sleek contour palette. I admit i actually picked up the wrong one.. but i still love it none the less. I got this in superdrug as you cant buy sleek in Boots! I got it for about £9.99 which i think is really good for three products in one. Unfortunately i can only use two of the colours in there as the other is too dark for me. I use the middle highlighter which I LOVE and the lighter highlighted bronzer. It has such a lovely effect on my skin tone and it blends in really well and it is incredibly pigmented. I love tanned highlighters i just think they have a much nicer look next to bronzer as it blends in well with it, which is why i love Benefit Sunbeam highlighter! I apply the bronzer on the cheek bones and the highlighter just next to it and down my nose which i think looks very nice, and quite sun-kissed. So i recommend you try!

My favourite brushes at the moment are all Real Techniques and all £9.99 which i purchased from boots. I use the expert face brush (the one in the middle) for my foundation and it has an incredible effect, it makes your skin look SO flawless and gives an amazing finish, i love it so much. Sometimes it can use brush marks on your face but they are very easy to get rid of and not a big problem at all its the only thing i could say wrong with it. The blusher brush (the one on the left) is another very good one. I think the reason i like it so much is because it goes in slightly at the top so its easy to get a really nice shape of the blush or the bronzer and i think most blusher brushes should do that. The brush is so soft that its so nice on your skin and its another really good buy. The last brush (on the right) is the stippling brush, i use the brush for blending in my concealer or for putting on cream blush. Because the brush hairs are so spread out its easy to get into small places, e.g. putting concealer under your eyes, its good for getting around the top of your nose and near your tear duct area, where a expert face brush couldn’t do as well as. Its easy to move the brush around in the one place on your face so i think thats why its good for blending cream blush.

I ADORE Real Techniques brushes, i think they are so uniquely made and have had a lot of thought put into them and thats why they are so good. If you are thinking about buying one i really think you should go for it, i wouldn’t say they are overpriced i think they are very good prices for how amazing they are.

This is an old product from Benefit, and it was actually my sisters but she gave it to me, it came with two other colours a pink and a gold. I use this colour the most though. I love it because its really good for your brow bone, higlighting your tear duct and your cheeks. I mostly use it for my eyes and it has an amazing effect, for me i really think it brings out the colours that you put on your eyes, as its such a light colour the other colours stand out. Im not sure if they do still sell it anymore BUT i found an alternative, its from MAC and its the pigment powder, they are £17 and have alot in it, the colour vanilla is the closest to this one. This is a very recommended and well loved item.

Well thats everything, i hope you enjoyed this as much as i did writing it! ❤

My favourite three hair products at the moment.

ImageSo here we have two from Umberto Giannini, a salt spray and scrunching gel. Then from John Frieda we have sheer blonde go blonder. I am going to review a little bit about each.

Enjoy!

So starting with the scrunching gel by Umberto Giannini which I purchased from Boots at £4.79 which i think is a bargain for the amount that you get in there!

I love this because i have very curly ginger hair and fellow frizzies will know that it is horrible to get little puffy bits on the top of your head that aren’t flowing as much as the rest of your curls and you just want a full head of wonderful curls. This scrunching gel does the trick. I put this in my hair after i have had a shower and just brushed it and lightly dried it with my towel. With this gel a little goes a LONG way so you only need a little squeeze.. although it can come out quite fast so just use all that up on your whole hair to avoid crunchy curls (not a good look) I wouldn’t say there is a proper ‘technique’ for hair scrunching you really just have to go for it.

This gel gives me such amazing curls and its good for loose and tight curls and it smells amazing and leaves your hair smelling wonderful so i definitely recommend this product because its just wonderful!!

Another one from Umberto Giannini and this is the sea salt/grunge/beach look that has become very popular recently. My mum actually got this for me, again from Boots and another amazing price at £5.61, a little bit more expensive but i definitely think its worth it.

This is good if your going for a more rugged/scruffy curl look because it makes your curls a lot thinner and i love the look that it gives because i tried a salt spray before and it didn’t do much but this one really hits the spot. Again you put this on with wet hair but when its damp not when its still dripping wet from the shower otherwise it wont have the same effect and wont look like you’ve done anything to it at all. I’ve been wearing it a lot in the summer because its a great for a beach look and for feeling summery. This is a spray and again it smells amazing and leaves a really nice smell in your hair like the other Umberto Giannini hair product.

This spray can look particularly lovely in thin hair which has quite a beautiful effect i think because it sets the hair into very small sections and gives a wavy effect and i think it looks amazing but sadly i could never do that with my hair!

This is another one i highly recommend.

My last but not least hair favourite right now is my John Frieda ‘Sheer Blonde Go Blonder’ from Boots.. AGAIN. For £6.99 the most expensive one out of them all but worth it.

Now i don’t actually have blonde hair but i have blonde ombre and at the first the blonde was too caramel for me and i wanted something a bit lighter and this really did the trick and i am much happier with what it looks like. You can put this in with dry or wet hair it works the same and a lot sprays you can get that say they can preform stuff like this but never really works out, this is the one to get!!

It doesn’t only come in a spray in comes in shampoo’s and conditioners, as i didn’t want my whole hair lighter i decided to get the spray so i could decide where to do it. I know that this works on naturally blonde hair as well very well because my friend used it and she wanted a much lighter colour and her fair looked amazing just after a week or so using it so i really think this is a good purchase if you are wanting to go blonder on naturally blonde hair or dyed.. NOT BLEACHED!!
